At our Boonton Township office, Dr. Paul M. Lewandowski has been a doctor of chiropractic since 1985. In that time, he’s made it his mission to stay up-to-date with best practice and cutting-edge technology that has graced the world of chiropractic care. That’s why he’s proud to be an area leader in advanced chiropractic medicine and is honored to provide a variety of comprehensive, non-invasive, and innovative services to his community.
Services Offered
Whether you’re dealing with a nagging injury from years ago, an acute sports injury, a car accident injury, or some other physical condition, our chiropractic team can help! Here are the key services we offer to Boonton Township and surrounding communities:
Chiropractic Care
The keystone of any chiropractic practice is chiropractic adjustments (manual manipulation of the spine). Here at Lewandowski Chiropractic our focus is the scientific evidence based location of mechanical problems with your spine and the restoration of normal spinal mechanics. This is accomplished by hand or in some instances utilizing specific Activator Tools to assist in the manipulation. Chiropractic adjustments actually help restore normal movement to spinal joints (which can become fixated due to stress, chronic injury, illness, or acute trauma) and reduce pain by removing nerve irritation. Manipulations of the peripheral joints ( shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee ankle or foot ) may also be necessary. For this reason, chiropractic care is effective for treating everything from spinal conditions to extremity pain.
Physiotherapy
Physical modalities are an exciting part of rehabilitative medicine because they offer patients the benefits of innovative technology without the drawbacks of invasive procedures (such as prolonged recovery time and adverse effects). Some of the physiotherapy treatments we offer at our clinic include:
- Interferential electrical muscle stimulation
- Hydrocolator Packs ( moist heat)
- Cryotherapy (ice)
- Microamperage neural stimulation
- Diathermy
- Cold Laser Light Therapy
- Computerized spinal decompression
- IATSM ( Instrument Assisted soft tissue manipulation)
- ART ( Active Release Technique )
- Graston Muscle Therapy
- Kinesiology Taping ( specific muscle/tendon taping support )
Spinal Decompression
Spinal decompression is a nonsurgical type of motorized traction that helps relieve neck or back pain. The specialized table which is computer controlled allows the neck or back to be gently stretched and relaxed and move according to the parameters set in the computerized program. Gentle pulls on your spine, relieves pressure on the discs in between the vertebrae.
Corrective Exercises
Exercise is not just about getting strong. Exercise is also important for facilitating motor control, improving joint stability, and even promoting tissue healing. It all depends on the exact prescription and goal of treatment. The Doctors are experienced clinicians who love using corrective exercises to help their patients improve their function and reduce their symptoms. The corrective exercise prescriptions are fully customizable depending on the individual patient’s stage of healing and physical needs, and are taught in the active rehab area of our office. Swim stroke analysis is performed on our VASA dry land swim trainer. Patients are strongly educated on exercise posture and technique.
Postural Analysis & Screening
In our experience, we all take for granted the way we sit, walk, stand, and move around at work and in our day-to-day lives. The Doctors use their experienced eye and critical analysis skills to help you learn about your body and understand how hidden factors and postural imbalances may be contributing to your dysfunction, then correct these imbalances using practical and holistic steps. Suggestions are made for the correct postures and ergonomics at work, home or for activities of daily living.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is another treatment we offer. This chiropractic care treatment relieves tension in the muscles. The massage therapist uses special maneuvers that loosen tight muscles, which has the potential to relieve pain. Massage therapy reduces inflammation. It promotes blood flow to the area, which ultimately leads to a better recovery since the nutrient-rich blood supports optimal healing.
